Image Upload - automation of loading images, resizing, cropping and image quality optimisation - a real time saver. Searching - quick and effective property search facilities. Payments - fully integrated credit card payments via PayPal. Enquiries - Property Owners can receive enquiries via an online form which keeps their contact details private from web surfers. Shortlist - As web visitors browse the rental properties they can add them to their Shortlist. They can easily review their list of favourite properties and then make use of the multiple enquiry form. By completing a single form with their accommodation enquiry, their message is separately sent to all property owners in their shortlist.
Holiday Your Way provide a worldwide holiday rental property advertising portal
for those people wishing to book their accommodation direct with property owners, thus avoiding
travel agent fees or commissions.
They had originally developed their own static website building up a list of rental properties. As the site grew, the task of content management became an increasingly daunting and time consuming process. Their limited technical skills also left the site short of the desired functionality that was offered by their competitors. Afizz were brought in to review the site and suggest possible improvements that could move the website into a more professional arena. Database The key to the new website was the introduction of a database to store the rental property details. The database makes the task of content management far easier and what's more the property owners are able to manage the details of their rental properties rather than requesting changes via email - it's quick, easy and provides immediate updates. We also developed a bespoke database administration software package to provide a sophisticated tool to manage data and provide reporting facilities. Property Photos Another area that was previously very tedious and time consuming was the processing of property photographs. A lot of manual image transfer and manipulation took staff away from working on more important tasks. Afizz we delighted to introduce a fully automated image uploading and processing web application. Property owners can now upload their own digital images and the software takes care of the processing and saving images of the right shape and size that's required by the website. A very powerful and beneficial solution for all concerned. Online Payments A fully integrated online payment system was included within the website design. The PayPal system was used to take credit card payments and provide an automated feedback mechanism for both the website user and the holiday your way admin staff. Search facilities One of the main failings of the old static site was the ability to fully search the property listings. The database solution gave rise to a number of different search facilities - all providing a far more efficient method of selecting the desired rental properties. |
